Love the quote.

I wouldn't try to cover so many countries in four weeks. Save some countries for your next trip. But I'm probably older than you, and I've already done Western Europe. And you'll most probably have a great experience no matter what you decide.

But don't make your schedule too tight. Allow for some days to just relax.

Happy trails!

thanks skate I appreciate the advice. We are trying to cut lots of stuff out. we originally had two months so taking it down to half that has been hard. we are thinking of doing 4 days in london, a fifth as a day trip to stonehenge, a day in amsterdam, a day in bruge, 4 days in paris, two in florence, 4 in rome and five in greece. do you think that allows us enough travel time in between? its a total of 22 days in cities.

What I do is get a map and circle everthing I want to see. Then start with some of the more remote destinations and work your way back to the city you're flying out of. Maybe you'll find that you enjoying waking up in a new city every day. Towards the end of your four weeks head back. I leave a day or two in my departure city to relax. It's good that it's just two of you, traveling with a big group can often be slower.

Best of luck

I do exactly the same thing when planning a trip. In fact I'm doing it right now for my Feb/Mar trip to the UK and Ireland.

Speaking of travel agents and Ireland, I ran into some unfortuneate fellows while on the emerald isle. They purchased a these 'B&B vouchers' from a travel agent. But they were limiting. Basically these guys had less freedom. They basically paid more money to have less of an experience.

I think this board is more for 'travelers' as opposed to 'vacationers.' We plan and research our own trips rather than letting someone sell us a package.
