I'm planning a RTW trip starting fall 2006 for my gap year. I'm trying to plan at least some of the trip around major events in cities I'm visting. Besides reading each country's travel guide, are there any comprehensive lists that you know of with major festivals around the world? Or does anyone have any omigod-you-have-to-go-there-and-see-this ideas? I'm looking for unique things that you might have seen and really reccomend. An amazing party you went to? Great eating? Best festival ever? Anything you can think of would be fabulous. Thanks much!

It's not every day that i witnessed the burning of statues that were five stories high, and the heat generated. A whole new meaning to the term crowd control.
