Maramures Festivals
We went to Bistra to the north of Maramures on the Ukrainian boarder yesterday.It is a very nice village hidden amongs the Carpathian mountains and overshaddowed by Poppyvan.It was the village festival day and the dancing was very colourful and both Romanian and Ukrainian dancing was in evidence.There will be village festivals now until the begining of August most Sundays though some of the villages are a bit remote and not to easy to get to.
