This article talks about a 10 day trip in Italy (and Barcelona) in April and May costing around 1400 dollars. Can anyone think of another way to bring this cost down at about the same time of year?
I think thats quite expensive...have you scouted around for cheaper deals online? STA is always good but i have also got quite a cheap deal via myvouchercodes.co.uk i got a bargin trip to rome through them via thompson, which suprised me. Might be worth a look. Italy is beautiful though, much to love x
If it's peak season then that's a pretty average price. For April or May that airfare is steep, but if he wants certain days and times or direct flights then it's about average I guess.
I was surprised how cheap it was to eat well in Italy. I had great lasagna in Florence for 3 Euros.
It all depends on how you want to spend your 10 days. The main cost of traveling to Europe is the Flight and Transport so if you can stay longer it will be equaly as cheep and you will get a far better experience with less stress.
Plan ahead! the earlier you book your flight, generaly the cheeper it is but sometimes they have cheep stand by tickets for specified dates. If you book your hostels online in advance it not only saves you money but guarantees you a room, other wise you might have to settle for a more expensive room.
10 day trips you can bring a lot more then a long term trip so bring as much as you can fit in your suit case or backpack.
