Well i'm from england, so probably sticking over to the western side as i'm going by train and don't want to spend hours and hours travelling. I've got a really good idea about where i'm going and what i'm doing there now.

Except i'm going to Germany, in between prague and amsterdam, and i want to go to Berlin, but then there is a huge train journey to amsterdam, does anyone recomend a town for an overnight stop to take a look around? Preferably somewhere not completely of the trail between prague and amsterdam.

Default Amsterdam - Prague - Venice

Lucky you. I made a trip similar about 10 years ago.( man am I that old)
We were on foot, had a wild edible food guide and a hand made camping hammock each so we can slip in any situation and always be comfy.

Anyhow we thumbed to Amsterdam and got caught up in a cloud for a week or two and just partied all the time before thumbing our way through Germany to Prague which by far was the number one place on the trip. The city is fantastic, people are friendly and the beer is cold and CHEAP.

We found a nice camp site on the east side and they allowed up to set up hammocks in the tress so we had bohemian views to sleep with and a safe place to store our kit.

We stayed in Prague for around a month after checking out all the advised things to do de dars , some off track adventures and also hiring a car for a cpl of day to get on the rubber trail and really see the country.

Venice - also fantastic and a great place to visit.

All in all Prague was my favorite place and I plan to go back there asap.
In the mean time I just camp out in Devon and blog here
