Default Interrailing

Well, want to interrail around europe, but i'm very confused working out what trains it includes. I read somewhere that it doesn't include eurostar. And some of the fast/night trains.
How can i find out online if you have to pay extra for a certain train?
Thank you

I've never actually found a clear and definite answer to that. I know it doesn't include the nice train-hotels between Paris and Madrid and Paris and Barcelona. It also doesn't include some private trainlines in Switzerland.

My usual strategy was to ask at the station a day or two before I was planning to go. If the train I wanted was going to cost a lot more then I would get them to find different connections for me. Sometimes this meant slow 15 hour trips with multiple connections, but there was always a way.

It doesn't include Eurostar or the Thalys (the fast train between Amsterdam and Paris).
