Default Travel and Side Trip Studies in Europe

Hello to all culture lovers out there! I’m writing with a tip for those who are interested in cultural exchange but can’t find the time to get away for a stay abroad. There are other possibilities to learn about a different culture as well, you don’t have to miss out. You can also bring the culture to you! After school I went directly to university, graduated, got a job and got married. I am very happy with my life but with this tight schedule I never found the time to travel much. That’s why I decided a while ago that we become a host family. Now we just saw our first guest off, who really became a lot more than that to us. It was a very sweet girl from Germany who came here to Tenerife to improve her Spanish skills. The whole experience has been amazing. She was able to learn a lot about our culture and of course the language. At the same time she gave us an insight into her own culture and both sides were enriched by this cultural exchange.

Our daughter is approximately the same age as Katja, the German girl, only a few years younger. She is very impressed by the German culture and the two of them became good friends during Katja’s stay in our family. They even decided that our daughter will visit Katja next year in Germany, travel around with her for a bit and take a German course Berlin. I think that is a wonderful opportunity for her to broaden her horizon and gain more cultural understanding. Not just our daughter became good friends with Katja. My husband was also thrilled with her. Especially once he found out she could play Poker! He loves to gamble and the two spent quite some time together playing.

All in all I can only recommend this one-time experience to anybody. Without leaving your home, the cultural exchange comes to you. This is the perfect way to broaden your horizon, earn a little extra money and make valuable friendships which last a lifetime!
