My boyfriend and I are going to be travelling to Europe this May/June 09. We are going for about 2 1/2 months. We plan on buying either the Eurail 15 day, 5 country pass (Germany, Benelux, France, Spain, Italy) or the Eurail 15 day global pass. The reasons for visiting Frankfurt and Augsburg in Germany are because I have family there that I want to visit. I've tryed to account for travel time in my itinerary, and would like to know what others think of it. Please feel free to post any comments or suggestions, good or bad. Thanks in advance !!

PS: I realize this is a very city orientated trip, however my boyfriend and I both love cities, and we look at this trip as mostly an overview of Europe, with more trips (hopefully!) in the future to see the countryside and smaller towns of the countries we particularly enjoyed.

so, sounds like an amazing trip. And actually sounds alot like what i am planning for next summer as well. I will be starting in the UK, and probably doing most of my travel manualy if possible(bike/hike). That in combination with spending a bit longer period of time in a couple of the spots is lengthening mine to somewhere around 4 and 1/2 months. Just be sure to plan time to rest somewhere in there, otherwise you will end up feeling really rushed. Cheers though!

Now that is some serious city visiting! I used to live in Madrid for a year, it was pretty dam sweet.. did the day trip to Toledo like yourself also.
