Default There are lot's of companies like that

Hey, mate? Do you work for them? There are lots of New Zealand rental campervan companies with websites that are a great deal better. It's a brutally competitive market and prices are sharp as tacks. Just Google "Cheap New Zealand Campervans" and pig out on choice.

Default Certainly is competitive

Yes, the market for Campervan Hire New Zealand is rather competitive.

I see that the 2 berth rates on ave.net.nz start at $NZD170 in the Christmas season. Yes, you could get better rates than that for similar vehicles, but how about picking a totally different vehicle that gives the same result.

The DriveNZ drivenz.co.nz sleepervans start from $NZD71 in the high/Christmas season, and go down to $66 per day if you are hiring for more than 28 days. And at the moment, they are offering 10% off even those prices, such is the competitive nature of the market.

Please shop around to look for other deals...

So what other parts of the equation are important:
  • Yes, they have insurance included in the price, and the excesses are far lower for the sleepervans, because they cost so much less. And you can buy out some of the excess if your own travel insurance does not cover such excesses.
  • Yes, they belong to the New Zealand AA / Automobile Association. So in the unlikely even that something does happen, you will get the vehicle repaired on the spot by the AA, or towed to the nearest service station.
  • Friendliness? They are all ultra friendly, but of course, I have a bias and consider that DriveNZ is pretty good

Check out the YouTube Video in my signature to find out about New Zealand. A nice slideshow covering lots of things to see and do in New Zealand.
