You will have to fill out the application for a work visa, which you can get from the New Zealand Immigration Service
http://www.immigration.govt.nz, but you will also have to have an offer for employment as part of your application. This becomes a Catch 22, which I'm still trying to get out of. Most companies won't offer to hire anybody without a valid work visa, but you need their offer to hire you as part of the work visa application. I'm going to try to work with a recruiting agency that seems to be very honest about the whole deal. The recruiting agency that I'm considering is
http://www.laceyleesimpson.co.nz/. I'm actually looking for somebody that might have used or worked with them. They do have a nice bit of advice for those looking to work in New Zealand, I'd recommend reading it. Other than that you have to pay $190 (US dollars) with your work visa application. And you'll need to get rid of all your belongings that you can't pack into a few suitcases. It's not worth the cost of shipping any large items to New Zealand unless you find a great deal on bulk shipping via boat.
Anyway, good luck. Let me know if you have any troubles or what your experiences are like.
