You will have to fill out the application for a work visa, which you can get from the New Zealand Immigration Service http://www.immigration.govt.nz, but you will also have to have an offer for employment as part of your application. This becomes a Catch 22, which I'm still trying to get out of. Most companies won't offer to hire anybody without a valid work visa, but you need their offer to hire you as part of the work visa application. I'm going to try to work with a recruiting agency that seems to be very honest about the whole deal. The recruiting agency that I'm considering is http://www.laceyleesimpson.co.nz/. I'm actually looking for somebody that might have used or worked with them. They do have a nice bit of advice for those looking to work in New Zealand, I'd recommend reading it. Other than that you have to pay $190 (US dollars) with your work visa application. And you'll need to get rid of all your belongings that you can't pack into a few suitcases. It's not worth the cost of shipping any large items to New Zealand unless you find a great deal on bulk shipping via boat.

Anyway, good luck. Let me know if you have any troubles or what your experiences are like.

That sounds pretty similar to trying to get a US work VISA wont hire you unless you are leaglly entitled to work there but cant get a visa unless you have a job lined up. So backwards it's funny...
