When in Christchurch, be sure to do the 1/2 day bike tour by Christchurch Bike Tours.

You can pick up a brochure in the visitors center in Cathedral Square.

The tour took us to places we would have never seen otherwise. We loved walking in the beautiful native bush, and seeing a REAL maori marae (not on that does shows for tourists, but a real working one). The guy that takes the tours is friendly and helpful too.

It costs NZ$20, which is only $4 more than hiring a bike for 1/2 a day without a guide.

Hi there, I agree! We did the Christchurch City Bike Tour last week and I have to say it was the highlight of my trip to Christchurch! We pedalled our way through some beautiful gardens and parks. We normally do these types of activities by ourselves but we are so glad we took a tour this time as we would have never found these spots we went to by ourselves and it was great value. Nice guide too! A must-do on a visit to Christchurch!
