Default Visa's for Oz & NZ

Hi

I have already had a WHV for Australia & NZ but i want to go again!! Does anyone have any experience of getting another one? The reason i ask is because, i got both visa's 2 years ago, i flew to NZ first but i was only there for 4 days when my father fell seriously ill. I had to return to England immediately and shortly after my father died. I couldn't return to Oz or NZ within the timescale of both visa's as i couldn't leave my family at the time. Anyway i am now ready to go again but i believe you only get one WHV is there anyway around this? i was thinking of writing to Australia/New Zealand house to explain what happened and as for another visa but i am unsure whether this will be of any use?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Jim

Although there is no guarrantee that it will work, it may be worth explaining your situation to the Australian and New Zealand embassies. If you point out that you had the visa but never worked (and didn't even enter Australia) then you may get lucky.

The WHV laws are changing all the time and generally they are becoming more liberal in granting longer visas to more nationalities. For instance from 1 November 2005, Working Holiday Makers who have worked as a seasonal worker in regional Australia for a minimum of three months while on their first working holiday visa, will be eligible to apply for a second Working Holiday visa and stay for a further 12 months.
