hey, im 19 and from nottingham uk. i'll be in the typical traveller situation i.e never been to oz before and don't know anyone there. im flying into perth on 18th january and wondered if anyone will be there and would fancy meetin up? im goin for 6 months and dont know how long i'll stay in perth for .i plan to move on to adelaide next. if u do, email me at lukechesters@hotmail.com

Hi there.
I was in Perth april 04. Very nice city. On small side though. I stayed in a hostel and cost was $15 a night with 4 to a dorm. Bunk beds. Perth quiet as a rule except for week end then it gets rather active from 8pm friday with clubbers.You can meet companions at the hostels quite easily. Check out bus routes as it is free in the inner city during the day time.Very nice park with Aboriginal center. It overlooks the city quite spectaculy.Do grocery shopping city center at Woolworths to save money.
Do not forget to go to Freemantle ( by bus) as it is very worth your while to see. Tour the jail a must. Lots of hostels so lodgings are really a cinch. Bus from airport rather than taxi. You will save quite a few dollars. Bus takes you to city for much less. Buses are geared for back packers so luggage no worries.Bus stop just outside airport entrance.
