[Soulboy#1]

Hi there i'm taking a mini trip for 5 weeks ( i hope this is long enough) from Sydney to Cairns. I'm getting to sydney on the 18th of december, and plan to surf, drink, and laugh my way up to cairns and basically have a nose around, is anyone going on this direction around this date? I Havn't got a clue where to start but hopefully i will have a clearer picture when i land.............hopefully

Sydney to Cairns a no brainer. Plenty of tours or other means of transport up that way. Check hostel notice board on arrival. Does not pay to pre commit until you land as many deals available form hostel guests. check hostels board other than your own as well.Dive on the Barrier reef at Cairns a very good experiance.Also Kuranda visit quite good. Travel over to Alice if you can. 5 weeks plenty to see Sydney and Cairns. A few days in Sydney (botanical gardens ,museum & jail etc). 3/5 days in Cairns and surrounding area should suffice.
