is anyone here familar with that school? epinions.com did not have any reviews on it and i'd like to hear the opinions of people who have been there or who are familiar with the school somehow. im thinking of studying abroad there from july-december (then using most of december and some of january to backpack new zealand and parts of australia)and it seems like a nice school =)

I would try to get your hands on a copy of The Good Universities Guide. You can buy it from any Australian newsagent and it details every university in Australia as well as features ratings and reviews.

Are you definitely set on NSW? If so, check out University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). This has the best reputation (but is the hardest to get into) in NSW.

It's got a good business school. They call it 'Club Med Uni' though cos' it has lotsa holidays. LOL It's PERFECT for an exchange student.

I know a good site for OZ uni reviews but I just can't remember what's it called at the moment. I'll post again IF the name pops up.

Whatcha gonna do in uni anyway?

Cheers,
Geraldine

Thanks for the links and the tips. I'm pretty sure Sydney is the place i want to be. Also the school was the only one that was in sydney through my school's affordable study abroad program and one of few school's that actually had 3 classes i could get credit for within my major. =)

lol sounds like the place for me then. i love that they give u a 2 week break in the middle of the semester. perfect time for me to go and do some snorkeling!i would love to see that site if you remember it. im right now in school studying to become a special education teacher. it's pretty hard to find classes other than electives (my major doesnt have many electives and it's all inclusive so you dont need extra units)that would allow me to get credit for the major. im planning on taking the teaching methods to teach aborigionese children, children's literature, and, children and fine arts. my advisor thinks ill be able to get the approval of the credential office but i wont find out till friday. i hope it works because i really have wanted to go abroad for a semester or a year.

2 weeks break? That's the spring break but it depends on the uni really. Some unis just have one week break. If the break's a major determinant on your decision, I strongly suggest you check it out first. o.O LOL

Are you planning to travel up to Cairns and do snorkelling? I haven't heard of any snorkelling spots in NSW. I recently went up North in WA and snorkelled on the Ningaloo Reef, which is much less developed for tourism compared to The Great Barrier Reef.

Which parts of Australia do you plan to explore?

Why Sydney?

I totally have no remnants of the website's name I told you about. I'll try harder. :|

yeah i hear cairns is great for snorkeling. i heard the same thing that nsw is known for good beaches but not really snorkeling spots. macquarie has a 2 week break and not 1 . it was on one of the study abroad things. i havent really looked much into which parts of australia id like to see because im not 100% certain if ill be able to take those 3 classes there. i decided on sydney because i really like the idea of being in a big city and having nice beaches near by. YES! I finally found it! It's iagora! LOL

Here's the link for Macquarie Uni.

http://istudy.iagora.com/Macquarie_U...y/reviews.html

You have to register to read the student reviews.

I'm sure this would help.

Cheers!

great site thanks so much! im planning to live on campus because it's already apart of my university's study abroad package. i also would prefer to stay on campus because i want to be able to meet other students. back to snorkeling, there is an optional trip through american instituite of foreign study where you can go to the great barrier reef for 5 days so i think i may do that.
