I've got my one year working visa and leave for Australia at the end of Sept. I need to set up a bank account. I know I can set one up online with Citibank but they've said you have to go to Sydney to pick up the bank card in person. The problem is I'm flying into Perth and won't be in Sydney for a few months. Any suggestions?

Open an account when you get to Australia.

Citibank have hardly any branches in Australia. A lot of people have home loans and credit cards with Citibank but hardly anyone uses them for everyday banking, since they only have 10 branches in the entire country.

Choose one of the big national banks like ANZ, Commonwealth, National or Westpac. They have hundreds of branches around the country.
