First Time Traveller
Hey all,
I'm leaving the sunny climes of Livingston, Scotland to spend the foreseable future in Australia and beyond. I'm heading out to Melbourne on the 29th of Jan where I will be spending the first two weeks abusing the good nature of my relatives. Then I will be heading east, not sure where, not sure how but east seems like a good direction. I'm looking for all kinds of general information as the last time I went on even a small family holiday was 12 years ago. Needless to say i'm not equipped with the travel experience of most others but I intend to learn quick. Can anyone reccommend good routes to take? Places I must see? Places I must avoid? Good places to meet like minded travellers, aged 21/22 aprox? Maybe if it is worthwhile hitting Indonesia for a while? The best type of work to get while out there? Anything really!
If there is anyone heading out roughly the same time feel free to drop me a message and perhaps we can get lost together!
Thanking you all in advance!
Scott

Traveling in Aussi
Hey there, I'm going to Australia in March will you still be there around that time? I am probably a hopeless traveler on my own I've never done it before. Anywho get back to me on that one. Oh yea I am a female who is 19, but I am looking for someone to travel with that has a like mind as me. If that makes any sense at all.

welcome to all
Hi everyone! I am a nature lover and really want to explore some tourism in the world. At fist I just read in some magazine, encyclopedias and some tourism information. But as knew how to surf the net I was so amaze of thousands of information found in this site. I am so thankful and I’m so lucky that I can visit here.

Hi, the area of Tropical North Queensland is one I always recommend. Here you have the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rainforest, beautiful islands such as the Whitsundays, some Outback... Lots of activities: diving, snorkelling, trekking, kayaking, sailing...
You cannot miss this area. If you need more help, my email is maria at cairnsunlimited.com
cheers,
Maria

Hi!
I'm looking into going traveling near the back end of this year beginning of next year? I just wondered if anyone could give me a general idea of how you get into it and where are the safest places to go? And how much roughly i'll need to take with me?

HI everyone, new to this forum and new to the whole backpacking thing. My wife and I are travelling through NZ /Austrailia / Asia from Nov 08 to April 09 and will be in Austrailia from Dec to January. Starting in Cairns and heading down to Melbourne, any hints, tips, advice etc on anything regarding the trip would be great. Thanks.
PS any others doing the same trip, leg etc at the same time?

Hey All!! Just been reading your posts and seems i'm not the only solo traveller. I'm a 23 female and been out in OZ now for a month staying with my relatives. I'm about to go travelling as from next week on my own, but if anyone wants someone else to travel with please feel free to message me! Its all quite daunting doing it alone. I have no plans set in stone, i'm just making it up as i go along! Starting in Brisbane from next week and heading towards Sydney. Hannah_1988 message me if you want to join up!

Hi everyone,
I am considering taking a backpacking hol in Oz. I have only just had this idea and it's all a bit new to me! My first question is it just a youngsters thing, or are plenty of 30 ish year olds doing the same thing?
