Rancho Wendy first priority is serving your needs. Our desire to exceed your expectations is carried into all aspects of our trips -- from planning each day's activities and providing personalized service to ensuring your comfort and safety. Though you may not be aware of what happens behind the scenes, we are certain you will have a comforting sense of being well cared for. Whatever the activity, we go the extra mile to deliver an unforgettable experience.

Fantastic mountains, biking, hiking, water sports, outdoor sports, golf, killer trails, many waterfalls, exploring for caves, horseback riding, outdoor BBQs, Great night life.

We offer an excellent location for hiking tours, with breath taking views of the mountains that surround us. If you need a place to pitch your tent with bathroom facilities, or if you need a cheap room to stay in or base yourself....then we are the place for you!

Just 45 minutes from Santiago airport and just over an hour from Santo Domingo's airport we are based in the central mountains of the Cibao valley.

There are also tours that can be arranged to see beautiful waterfalls, spectacular dams, ancient caves and scenic mountain walks.

This is our promise to you!
You will feel and Experience!

Your adventure is made up of a number of special experiences, both large and small. You will be enthralled with the handsome mountains, spectacular views, historic sites, and quaint towns.

Equal to these larger sensations will be your memory of the bright taste of an mango you just picked; the friendliness of the owner of a general store; visiting a Dominican home and sampling her coffee; getting to know folks in your group; enjoying the sounds of the stream all night, while your sleeping at the ranch; riding a bike or a horse; hiking on a forested trail; seeing animals on the edge of a pasture in the evening; listening to the clatter of the brook, soothing your feet in the flow of a brook; feeling satisfied at the end of the day's ride; or taking an evening stroll along a quiet dirt road.

Part of the experience is also in the absence of things such as cell phones, billboards, decisions, cars, and bustle. The cycling hiking is all at your own pace, but so is everything else. We do the organizing, the planning and the lugging. You enjoy yourself.

So while the cycling is an important part of the adventure, it is really just one perfect part of a total experience. You are engaged in a bicycle tour- and in a whole range of places, sounds, smells, and perceptions.

Adventure Calling in Bonao!

On the hard trodden path of the adventurous, it is becoming increasing rare to discover the elusive prize that all of us seek: a hidden corner of paradise, untouched and authentic. While paradise may be a matter of personal preference, who could resist the charm of a rural Caribbean village nestled within impossibly green mountains, and crisscrossed by abundant streams and waterfalls? The wave of mass tourism to hit the Dominican Republic has, thankfully, bypassed such a place. The visitor who ventures off the beaten track of Santo Domingo-Puerto Plata-Samaná etc, and heads instead for the town of Bonao, will receive just rewards for his curiosity.

Bonao is the gateway to "Los Quemados", a sleepy village nestled in the foothills of the Cordillera Central, a destination that remains a precious secret to those few who have enjoyed its allure. It boasts spectacular views of the lush mountain ridges as well as the clear freshwater River Yuma running through the settlement. One could spend many peaceful days here merely enjoying the natural beauty of the location and the warm hospitality of the Dominican campesinos. The adventurous will find endless diversion and pleasure from mountain activities such as horseback riding, trekking to waterfalls, and swimming in the countless babbling streams and waterholes. Anything is possible, from hiring a motorbike to explore the corkscrew roads, to setting up camp on a remote mountaintop. With the rainy season over, now is a wonderful time to explore the unique appeal of Los Quemados, Bonao..
