The cheapest flights you may ever find are at www.southwest.com. It's a good airline, no frills. Also, www.jetblue.com, not very many flights. www.ata.com, www.frontierairlines.com, these are your best options. Good luck!

Cheers for the sites!

From experience, when is the best time to book tickets?

I am planning a USA trip for mid-Jan 2006. Is it best to book a few days (or weeks) in advance, or just arrive in LA (LAX) and find the best deals to other areas?

My itinery for USA -

*LA (don't intend to stay, I want to fly straight to Ft. Lauderdale)
*Ft. Lauderdale (I want 2 days in Miami)
Washington B.C (only a day trip...I want to see the sights)
*Detroit (1 week stay with my friend)
*New York (a couple of days before my trip to Europe)

Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

You should also check independence air - I've found a lot of great deals through them and sometimes their flights are cheaper/less time consuming than going Greyhound.

I really recommend southwest , I used them for 3 flights around the usa. They were delayed on one of the flights but were really friendly and helpful offering snacks etc. They were were the only airline I found that made booking a last minute flight for a non-american easy and cheap. I had trouble with other airlines wanting an american address or not accepting int. credit cards or having abbsurd flight prices.

Default cheap flights in and from USA..

www.airtech.com has unusual low fares unique deals that no one else has to hawaii at $149 each way, caribbean/mexico at $325 RT incl tax, Europe starting at $219 one way incl tax, they do this by making deals for you to fly last minute, so this is for those with more TIME than MONEY, they can be called at 212-219-7000 x 1 or fly@airtech.com small family owned politically progressive company! Impeach Bush!!!!!
