Question Buying / Hiring an RV

We are off to the states as the first leg of our journey in April next year. We are spending 4 months travelling from the east coast to the west coast.

We are looking into the possibility of either buying or hiring an RV to travel around in and save on accomodation costs.

Has anyone got any imformation or tips on what would be the best way of doing this?

Is it realistic to think that you could buy an RV on the east coast, drive it accross America and sell on the west coast?

Would we have any problems with registration / insurance?

If anyone has done this before and has tips / experience it would be grately appreciated!

Thanks,
Karl & Fran
