Default Immigration to Canada or the USA

Hi!

I'm really just looking for some information here. I've been over various websites (goverment and otherwise) but the immigration information I've found often can be quite confusing to read!

What I'd like to know is how easy is it to immigrate permanently to either the USA or Canada, or get a work vesa for either one of those countries and then take up more permenent residence there later (I'm coming from the UK).

I understand Canada uses a points system with a miminum of 67 points but there were some points I wasn't sure of, most noticbly I think where it asks you to find out if your experience or work confirms to skill level "0" or "A" or "B" (I don't know if mine does!).

RIght now I am using places such as monster.com to look for work, but is there a faster and easier way? I know of BUNAC but it is closed for 2007 and the age limit is 35, and in 2008 I will be 35 (so does this make me not legible?).

Also how easy is it to get to work in the USA? I tried filing paperwork with a friend over there, but after 4 (!) years of waiting the paperwork was rejected. The idea would be that I'd work for him for a time, and then seek other work within the USA later on. They made unreasonable demands on him though like asking him to pay me a wage he could never afford and to incorporate.

I'm basically after the fastest/easiest route to get to working (and later permenent residence) in Canada or the USA.

I am aged 34 (35 in november!), I am single and have qualifications such as a-level & city and guilds qualifications.

Check with BUNAC but I think you'll still be able to get their 1 year visa when you're 35.

Look at http://working.canada.com/ and http://regionalhelpwanted.com/ for jobs in Canada, and also the government job page. What sort of work can you do? Alberta's the easiest place in Canada to find work right now. The economy there is completely fossil fuel based, so if you have any oil rig experience, or if you're a welder or something like that, then that helps a lot. Assuming you have some skills then apply for jobs in Alberta and Saskatchewan and hopefully an employer will sponsor you. If not then get the BUNAC visa and head for AB or SK.

When you arrive, you must present your immigrant visa to a customs/immigration officer. The officer will check your visa and travel document and ask you questions similar to those on the immigration application form to verify that you are of good character and in good health. The officer may also request proof that you have sufficient funds to settle in Canada. Then, the officer will authorize your admission to Canada as a permanent resident. If you arrive as an entrepreneur immigrant, terms and conditions will be imposed. This means that you will have two years to meet the business requirements and that you must report your progress.

Hi, I was wondering how eligable we are at possibly returning to Canada. My husband and my self lived in Canada from 1996-2000. Our son was born in Calgary. He has dual citenzinship Canadien/British. We have since returned to the UK. I have since been divorced and am now wanting to return to Canada, with my son. I am British. Would this be easy considering my son is Canadian??
