Hello, We are looking for some people to join us on a 2 month tour of Western China, concentrating on the ancient Silk Road, we will be using a multitude of different types of transport from trains to donkeys as well as a ten or so day camel trek around the Takelamagan desert which the second biggest one next to the sharala in Eygpt, we will be walking to find a grand
lake in the desert and camping a few days there. the tour also includs visiting far off monasteries high in the mountains, we will take in the local culture staying with host families, and at some ancient old historical sites along the route, starting in Beijing we head overland stopping in Xian to see the Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum and the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum.
and then heading westward xining, golmud, from there we take train to the capital city of xinjiang province.-from urumqi to karshgr we will do the KKH to the border of Sino-parkistan, we may quitely have chance to chat with the border soliders both sides. then wll find way to go to Tibet . this part of trip will cross some peaks over 6000 meters,after enter tibet we sahll also be hiking around the holy mountain of Mt. Kailiash, there are also a 4-5dys of walking treks in tibet before we get to Lhasha or by mountian bike heading to everest base camp via shigatse and tingri,most of the time we will be in the xinjiang province,and experience the pure middle and west aisa cultures.. if u are interested please get in touch and i will send you the detailed intinerary feel free to ask questions.
