Hello,

I am going to be heading to india for my gap year in october for a few months.
I am however unsure where to start and go to.

I was thinking to start in Goa as its fairly western and will ease the culture shock, then perhaps head to mumbai and delhi?

Some advice would be much appreciated.

Sure, go to India, this is a big country. There are many places to visit especially “Taj Mahal” one of the Seven Wonder of the World. Taj Mahal is built by the Muslim Emperor “Shah Jehan” for his beloved wife “Mumtaz”. This is really a very beautiful monument. Made up of fully white marble. You should visit Taj Mahal in moon lit night. Besides this you should also visit Pakistan. Really a very safe place, don’t listen the media what says. I have been visited India and Pakistan in January 2008. Both countries have the same culture and language. Lahore is a beautiful city of Pakistan. It is called the city of Gardens. There is a big Fort also built by Muslim emperors. Pakistan has a rich cultural history. You should visit there “Mohanjodaro” and “Harapa” these are two prehistoricall cities built before four thousands years ago.
