Question driving italy --> switzerland

Hi, my boyfriend and I are renting a car from Milan and plan on driving up to the mountains (St. Moritz) for a couple of days, and then Zurich, and then back to Italy.

1. Has anybody done these journeys before? Does it really take only a couple of hours from Milan to St Moritz??

2. What passes / stickers do we need to get before we cross the border? Can we buy the permits at ANY border? Chiasso is where we plan crossing. Can we buy the permit from our rental company?

If anybody could give any tips, if you've done these cities (in 1 go) before that would be really helpful! We have 10 days altogether so quite enough time I think! If anybody has any other suggestions for going up to the mountains for a few days (not necessarily to ski, just enjoy the snow etc), that would be much appreciated as well

Thank youuuuu!

Agree with you. I was in Italy last summer and I rented a car for my holidays. Really enjoyed driving in Italy.
