Question

Hi, I am travelling to the UK on a working Visa on the 14th of March next year. I have received some conflicting information from travel agents re flights.

One person has told me that I will not be allowed in without a return ticket, even though the Visa is for 2 years but a return ticket has to be used within 12 months?

Any advice is appreciated.

As long as you have the visa and proof of something like £1000 to get set up before you find work you should be fine. The immigration control people understand that the visa's for 2 years.

Beauty, thanks musicdisciple!

My flight is booked for 14 March! I ended up getting a return ticket anyway, works out that I will only loose a few hundered bucks anyway if I go back after 12 months!

Better get my resume updated before I go!

What sort of work are you looking at doing over there? I'm heading over there in March as well for a couple years and i've been watching a couple online job sites quite closely.

Try this one:
HotOnline

I've been using the www.planetrecruit.com affiliate of that site and it has a ton of IT jobs listed. Every day I'll get an email notice of at least 10 new job postings in my field.
