Im planning to backpack around europe soon and I know that I should probably know this by now, but anyway.

I would really, really love to know if I need a visa to enter the schengen countries, or if I just arrive there with the rest of my documentation.

Depends on what country you're a citizen of and how long you're planning to be in the schengen zone.

if you are a citizen of the united states, you don't need visa from 90 to 180 days,depends on the country.
