I am very fearful that I will not be able to enter Europe. I am a U.S. citizen. I arrived in Geneva on December 25 only to stay in France (town next to the border of Switzerland in the Rhone Alpes). As of recently, Switzerland is now apart of Schengen Zone. I do have a stamp on my passport from Frankfurt dated December 25. Does that mean I must leave by March 25? If I don't what are the penalities? If I leave on March 25, may I return to Geneva in one month or do I have to wait 90 days before returning to Schengen zone? I want to apply for a Visa but I don't want to be in the U.S. for more than one month. I want to be in France until August. What shall I do? Will a Visa take too long? Do I have to wait longer to return to France???
