hi! never been to UK but want to go this summer. What shall I do in order to apply, besides the simple application itself, - shall I book the hotel beforehand? What if I apply now but don't know the exact dates when I will fly in London (haven't gotten tickets yet, or shall I do it prior to applying?). Shall I book the hotel prior to applying? For how long a visa is given? One month? What if I book a hotel let's say, starting June 1st, but closer to the date will have to postpone my trip till June 20th - will it be a big faux pas for the UK consulate? Wil they ask me to provide certain funds for the trip, like in cashier's checks or cash?

I would be very obliged for any sort of information!

What country are you a citizen of and what kind of visa are you planning to apply for?

I am a Russian Federation citizen, but applying from the USA - I am a permanent US resident with a green card.

as a tourist, i want to try get tickets for Glastonbury festival
but as you know, their dates are not going to be disclosed until later, one is certain - its in June
