am still just trying to set a flying budget that will show me if it is possible at all for me.

as the plan is to stay with my friends, it is basicly just plane prices i am interested in. i have heard of some agencies offering a world tour ticket - does anybody know about that?

i will probably have 3-4 months to use. some destinations might have to be skipped. everything is pretty much at dream-level at the moment.

i am 21, danish and currently living in germany.

Myanmar Tourist Visa-Informations http://www.bug.co.uk/forums/discussion/6587/myanmar-tourist-visa-informations Sat, 12 Feb 2011 16:52:26 -0500 dingleyC 6587@/forums/discussions
A valid return ticket
2 Passport pictures size 4 cm x 6 cm (not older than 6 months).

You might be asked to show that you have $US300 in cash (families $US600) and a reservation for a hotel or guesthouse which has a hotel license. The visa on arrival is now quite complicated. You have to explain your travelling plans and the places where you stay. The best way is to arrange your visa at the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok. You can get it in one day. Only real problem is that the immigration officers are very picky about the US dollar bills as they are required to be new and with no creases.

While ASEAN and PRC nationals may have had visa-free access in the past, the Myanmar Embassy in Singapore declares that "all nationalities" must obtain visas before travel (9 April 2008). Some additional restrictions, requirements or conditions may be applied to applications - reports have included a need for a detailed itinerary, a detailed job history, etc. be prepared for some unusual questions (either on the forms, or from the Consulate staff) when applying for your visa. Though not explicitly stated, it has been reported that the authorities only allow one trip to the country every 6 months.

The easiest way to get the visa is to apply through a travel agency in your home country. The form is simple and requires an ID photo or two. In Bangkok, it takes one or two business days. A standard application for a tourist visa requires: a completed visa form (available from the Embassy), a completed arrival form (again, from the Embassy), a photocopy of the photo page from your passport, two passport sized photos, the applicable fee (810 Thai Baht - US$24 as at September 2009). In Hong Kong, you can get the visa the same day afternoon if you submit the application by 11:00am (your passport, 3 passport-size photos, business card / leave letter from your employer or student ID if you're a student and application fee of HK$150 - US$19).

Tourist visas are issued for a single entry, valid for one month from the date of issue (as of 3/3/10). The visa is good for a stay of up to four weeks (from date of entry), although you can overstay if you are willing to pay a US$3 a day fee when you leave. Successful applicants will also be issued an "Arrival Form", which will be stapled into your passport and must be presented on arrival in Myanmar, along with your passport containing the visa sticker. Ensure that the visa sticker and arrival form have both been signed by the immigration officer before leaving the Embassy. Note that you will still have to fill in the usual customs and immigration forms on your flight into the country.

I did the Kiwi Experience in New Zealand and had such a great time.
I have heard about bussabout; and am looking for other companies like this one.
Africa, Asia, or anywhere in the world; I'd love to hear some quick companies.
Anyone hear of any or have any recomendations?
Thanks,

To China by foot ???? http://www.bug.co.uk/forums/discussion/3603/to-china-by-foot-ssss Sat, 18 Jun 2005 15:39:26 -0400 gufghur 3603@/forums/discussions to China by foot ????
Hi all,

I'm searching for stories from people who have walked from europe to China. It IS an absolute crazy idea but in somehow i've got warm feelings about it.
I have no clue about the practical issue's about it (money for instance), but would love to find out how this could be realizable.
For the moment it's just a dream.... Maybe it could become reality?

Any hints are very appreciated.

Greetings,

The full gang is about 25 right now.
You'll be buying your own ticket direct from IR, we have people who can show you how to do that. There are absolutely no agents or operators involved, and you can do just part of the trip if you think that 2 weeks solid on Indian trains is just a bit too stupid. The Assam section alone would be a great adventure in itself.
It will cost about £150 to £300 depending on how comfy you want to be.
Please contact me for more info. We have a blog about the development of the project which is easy enough to find, just google the title.

Thanks

My girlfriend and I are planning a trip for this February through April. We're gonna start in Singapore and end up in Tokyo before flying back home to Canada. Our biggest problem right now is finding out how to get from Beijing to Japan. Preferably Tokyo, but will settle for cheaper.

I've been told to try China's National airlines, but their websites are possibly the worst I have ever experienced, especially when it comes to finding a fare. Japanese websites are no better. All I can find via other websites, are fares that are much more expensive that we're looking for.

Well, I've found somewhat cheap for Osaka. But is there any way to get from Beijing to Japan that minizes the flying? Trains, ferries, whatever?

Any help would be great. Thanks!]]>
