I am looking to travel with someone who is prepared to help me with my work in return for the transport etc. I have a fully fitted out 4wd and boat and will be travelling up the QLD coast, right up to Cape York, across to the Gulf country, over to Kakadu and Arnhem Land and across Northern WA to Broome (about 3 months to here) and eventually down to Perth and back across the bottom of Australia (8 month duration approx). I will be filming in many locations, including Arnhem Land, where I am friends with the traditional elders of the area.
This is not a paid job, but rather an opportunity to see the best Northern Australia has to offer in exchange for helping me out. The vehicle is a reliable late-model Landcruiser camper with cooking facilities, Fridge, UHF radio; in fact it's got everything you could think of, even computers and a TV. The boat is aluminium with a roof, sounder, vhf radio, epirb etc. and I hold full Aust. licences for both the vehicle and boat operation.
If you are interested in this opportunity please let me know. I would prefer somenone who is well spoken and presented as you may be asked to narrate from time to time (royalties basis). You must be easy-going and enjoy the outdoors. I am a 35 year old Australian guy with a lot of travel experience. During this trip, I will be making an environmental production, a fishing film and a surfing movie in North West WA. As such, there is always something to do. The successful applicant will of course be included in the credits of any production they are involved in and will have the ultimate momento of their travels in Australia; their own commercial DVD!!! I am Dan, im a 21 year old english male and i am currently living in Armidale, NSW, Australia.
I have a Working Holiday Visa for Australia and am looking at extending by another year if my planned route takes longer.

I am looking at leaving Armidale in the 1st week of September and plan to meet up in Sydney.
I am going to spend 12 months travelling around and if enough people show interest, a possibility to chip in for a car to share would be an option.
I have a temp driving licence for Australia and am looking for people with the same. (not an issue if not).

If i dont get enough replies, the train is a cheap form of transport from city to city, or plane for long distance.
I would also be looking at staying in Hostels or cheap hotels because these seem like the cheapest sleeping options.

If we plan to stay in a city for 2 weeks or more, i plan to do abit of fruit picking in order to help finance this adventure.

This is my route i plan to take

Sydney -> Newcastle -> Gold Coast -> Brisbane -> Cairns -> Alice Springs -> Darwin -> Perth -> Adelaide -> Melbourne -> Tasmania -> Canberra -> Sydney -> New Zealand -> Fiji -> Sydney

This route is always open for suggestions to change if anyone has other places to visit.
I would also like to spend time in the smaller cities if everyone agrees.

I have also thought about spending Xmas 09 in Fiji and New year 09 in Sydney, but this is not set in concrete

I'm planning to be in Perth for a month in December, staying with friends. But as I'm hoping to stay in Australia for three months, I'm undecided about my move after that. I've spent three months in Perth and Western Australia earlier in the year, and I've got the opportunity to go again. So I'm thinking about traveling around Western Australia afterwards, or maybe heading up north or down to south west Australia. But really, I'm pretty much open to going with the flow. Australia is such an amazing country and after spending three months there earlier in the year I am itching to go back again.

I'd like to try and touch base with anyone who is going it alone and is going to be in Oz from Dec and would maybe like a traveling companion.

Alternatively, if anyone is in or around Perth in December and wants to meet up (I can show you what I know of the amazing city that is Perth!) let me know.
