Have just discovered that a company www.megabus.com are offering cheap coach tickets between AMSTERDAM, PARIS and BRUSSELS.

Mite be worth a look for anybody traveling between these cities in the near future. The fares seem to be cheaper than Eurolines as of now.

Hi,
I am doing a Europe trip this summer and needed a little help with my transportation. My itinerary is as follows:
Day 1 - 3 Paris
Day 4 - 5 Barcelona
Day 6 - 8 Heidelberg - Castle, Merc Museum & Black Forest daytrip
Day 9 Fussen
Day 10-12 Salzburg
Day 13 - 14 Vienna
Day 15 - 17 Prague
Day 18 Back Home

If someone could answer my questions I would be much obliged.

1) I am going from Paris to Barcelona by plane but from there there are no direct planes to Heidelberg. Any suggestions - is there a train that I could take?
2) What is the best way to get to Fussen from Heidelberg? The train route I found online shows that I would have to make 2 train changes and with luggage I am scared that I will miss the connecting trains.
3) Is there a direct train from Fussen to Salzburg? The one I found again has 2 changes.
4) Is there a low-cost airline from Vienna to Prague?

myself and 3 friends are planning a trip to europe next year. ideally, we would like to buy a van of sorts and drive around, stopping and working in a few places along the way. realistically, is this an affordable option (purchase price, rego, insurance etc etc), or do you recommend trains/buses/planes?

Help!
My friend and I have made our list of trains for our trip to France and Italy and bought our France'N Italy pass. We get to paris may 29. We are taking the EuroNight train from paris to florence june6/7, and the same train back june 11/12.
Is it necessary to reserve weeks ahead of time from the US, or can we do it the day we arrive in europe, about a week before the first train.
We can't really afford to miss the trains, but everywhere that makes reservations from the US is SOOOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE!!!
I have never done this before, so i have no idea how quickly the trains fill up, etc.

Driving to outback Queensland

I am an Australian business man, and with my mate and his son, we are going to be driving to the borders of NSW, QLD and SA, next weekend. Originally, we were taking one of my kids but he has changed his mind, so we have a spare seat.
The trip is 2 weeks, we will be camping all the way. The distance around 3,000km. No internet, some phone coverage.

We are looking for someone to join us for the trip and share theior part of the expenses. We think probably $500 will cover it.

The group is 2 blokes - 55 and 46, the son of one of them, is 15. Ideally, the fourth person would be able to fit in with an all-male group, carry their own weight, sharing cooking etc, and drive. The vehicles are both manual 4x4's.

Is there a train from Vilnius to Tallin?

My boyfriend and I want to spend 2 weeks in September visiting the following places:-
Poland - Warsaw & Malbork
Lithuania - Vilnius
Estonia - Tallin
Sweden - Stockholm & Gothenburg

I have looked at train journey lenghts from country to country in the Europe Rough Guide book but cannot see anything about a direct link between Vilnius and Tallin. Has anyone travelled this route or any of the other routes we are planning. What is the best way to travel from Tallin to Stockholm - boat or plane? Any information or advice would be gratefully received.

I have friends meeting me in Barcelona and we will be traveling the eruorail for 4 weeks. We will eventually make it over to Budapest, then all the way back to Barca. In order to save money, I was wondering if there were night trains that had beds to sleep in? This would save time and money. I am trying to spend as little money on hostels as possible. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Everyone seems to promote the eurail pass I notice in alot of replies on bug forum but from where I am sitting I dont see the value in it..its far to restricted and way to expensive..
How can u possibly see 7 countries in the time you can have the eurail pass for?
What if you want to see a place longer?everyone I hear of has had a eurail pass and wishes they didn’t..as they ended up staying longer.. :(

We are planning on traveling Europe spring next year(leaving oz October this year but doing a RTW ticket) and when weighing up the pros and cons of car vs eurail or separate train tickets eurail doesn’t even come close..

Am just surprised this pass is sold..its such a waste of money.. :confused:

Questiona about Eurorail Pass

I spent the last few nights planning a summer itinerary for backpacking across Europe. I decided on Krakow as one of our stops and the more I researched the more excited I got. It combines my interests, and it is just something I would hate to scratch from the itinerary.

Then after all the research I realized I made a huge mistake because Eurorail passes don't work for Poland. It seems the best deal would be to get the Poland pass as well. But I need to get in and out of Poland. Would the Poland pass work for this? It would mean switching trains but thats no biggie. Or do I need to just get a round trip pass in and out of Poland and then switch trains and use my Eurorail pass?

Sorry if this is confusing. Thanks in advance for any advice:)
