Companion for travelling South Pacific Dec'06 to Feb '07 http://www.bug.co.uk/forums/discussion/4087/companion-for-travelling-south-pacific-dec06-to-feb-07 Sat, 08 Jul 2006 05:48:48 -0400 ST_Trekker 4087@/forums/discussions Hi there. I am in the midst of planning a South Pacific adventure tour and would like to know of anyone interested in joining me on any leg of the journey through Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tahiti. Male or Female in their 30's or 40's - but I won't turn down the enthusiastic traveler. Timeframe is start of December 2006 until end of February 2007, roughly. Lots of open schedules right now, but the plan is to get the Great Southern Railway Pass (for Australia) and stop off at many locations from Perth to Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns. I am planning on a condo stay in Brisbane or Gold Coast as a base to do Barrier Reef diving and other exploring - maybe 2-3 weeks. Onward to Fiji and Tahiti, it seems it only really is cost effective for two people. Yes, it sounds like it's costly, yet it's affordable! Ultimately, to avoid the single supplement everywhere at hotels/resorts, it would be great to have a traveling companion. Some exotic resorts in Fiji and Tahiti are only ~100/night per person. I am not backpacking it or doing the hostel thing, but am very budget conscious about accommodation. Interested? Send me an email or post a reply.

Cheers. :) ]]>

The adventure travel specialist is running an online competition where one lucky traveller and a mate will win flights to New Zealand, a 20 day ‘Funky Chicken’ trip and 20 of Kiwi Experience’s favourite experiences. All entrants need to do is tell Kiwi Experience why they’re a legend via video or photo and text post on their Website. Entrants can increase their chances of taking out the prize by encouraging family and friends to vouch for their legendary status on the Kiwi Experience website.

So get forwarding your entry via Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and email, or jump onto their Web to post a message in support of your favourite legend.

Also many Promos online now for a limited time like 30% off some passes and 60%+ off the Rangi + east As pass (Crazy!!!) I'd bok now before they end:D. Just Google search their Website Kiwi Experience.]]>

So I don't have any set plan or anything, but I was thinking about heading over to Rio for the Carnival then working my way up to the USA to work and travel for a while. Maybe do a roadtrip or something. Then over to Aus and NZ and work there for a while. I would like to spend Christmas over there. From there over to Asia, and then Africa. I would love to do Europe too if the funds hold out. I am looking to do this on a budget so plan to stay in hostels, camping and use Couchsurfing. I am totally open to any places and experiences. Looking to combine volunteer work, paid work and travels.

Me - I am a 22 year old female and in my last year of Uni so I graduate in the Summer as a teacher. I am pretty easy going so get on with most people. I really want to just have a great time and make some memories. I am open to any opportunities, parties, trekking, extreme sports, etc. I want to do things that I wouldn't normally do everyday!

Anyway sorry about the huuuge essay I have just written! If anyones intereted get in touch and we can discuss it further.

NZ 2005, Hiking & wwoofing http://www.bug.co.uk/forums/discussion/2950/nz-2005-hiking-wwoofing Thu, 27 May 2004 19:04:00 -0400 Jodie 2950@/forums/discussions I'm very much hoping to go to NZ in Jan 2005 for 6-12 months. My first priority is to do as many of the fabulous walks as I can, but I want to also do wwoofing/fruitpicking/any farm work in between, and also throw in one or two mountaineering courses, skiing, etc., depending on funds of course. I don't really want to go alone as I'm not that experienced a hiker, though I'm trying to fit in as much before I go as possible. But if anyone's interested in doing the same, please get in touch!

b)do you have a sense of humour?
c)do you have a sense of fun?
d)do you have a sense of adventure?
and most importantly
e)do you have a sense of direction?!!

If you answer "yes" to most or all of these then drop me a reply. I'm in Wellington at the moment.

I think it is about time I did the traveling thing; I’m 26 and fed up with work so I want to see the world while I have the chance. I want to go for at least 6 months and visit loads of places.
I am unsure about going alone because all my friends are to settled to come along, so I am looking for someone to come along for the start of the trip or whatever. So if you are looking for the same please let me know.

Thanks

BUG - the Backpackers Ultimate Guide has grown considerably in the past year with the addition of sites dedicated to budget travel in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific in addition to the more established BUG Europe web site. During this time the BUG Forums (formerly known as The Grapevine) has played a vital part in creating a sense of community among visitors to these sites.

Without your contributions and support BUG wouldn't be where it is today. We would like to thank you for your contribution to the web site by offering a free t-shirt to anyone who has posted over 50 unique messages on BUG Forums.

Although we have just launched this t-shirt promotion, we are extending this offer to existing contributors to the BUG Forums message boards to allow your existing message posts on BUG Forums to count towards the 50 messages required for a free t-shirt.

We have 100 t-shirts to give away and this offer will run until all the t-shirts have gone. There are a few terms and conditions such as not posting anything offensive or repeating the same post in different forums, however this is generally a fairly easy way to score a free t-shirt. If you use BUG as your main resource for planning your big trip and use BUG Forums then it shouldn't be too difficult to post 50 messages over a couple of months.

This promotion is valid on all the forums under the bugforums.com domain; this includes the Australia, Europe and Pacific forums. If you're travelling down under, feel free to participate in the Australia and Pacific forums. Both these parts of BUG are fairly new and it would be great to establish the sort of community that currently exists on the Europe forums.

Click here for more information on the free BUG t-shirt offer: http://www.bugforums.com/tshirt.html

Thanks again for helping make BUG a success.
