Own Transport..
  • flatly102flatly102 June 2011
I'm heading over to australia at the end of this year, roughly 4 months., and have just started browsing general jobs to get a feel for it really.. I've noticed that on many they state own transport is required yet i cannot drive.. Is this a crucial requirement with all Harvest/Farm/Construction and general Working Holiday jobs that i will come across as i cannot drive..
    Can anybody help on this?

A lot of jobs ask for own transport, as they don't provide accommodation.

But there are also lots of farm jobs out there that offer accommodation as part of your wages. With these jobs, you would be living on site, so you would not need transport.

    have a look at peterpans.com.au/gold

They have an all inclusive membership, that gives you access to all of the jobs on their database. There are many farm jobs that come up on there are I have seen quite a few that offer accommodation. Might be worth signing up to help you secure a job! You also get heaps of Travel discounts with the membership too, so it could save you money for your Travels around Australia.

Hope this helps you a little.
