we came for just 3 nights and ended up staying for 4 weeks (that sums it up).great hostel, clean rooms, nice ppl.. great town.. loved the bbq's at night and the pizzas for 5$, if you get a chance go to the kareoke. the manager, michelle gave us a time that we'll never forget.you'll love it

i'm traveling now since a few month arround australia... so i've seen many hostels and other places to stay. but i've never seen a so an cool place like this! here you have realy the feeling "from backpacker to backpacker!" and Tony helps you where ever he could... thanks for the cool time! I was there only for a few days but it has been one of the best in australia...and the showers.... the showers are great!! never had seen in this kind ...thank you Tony...

I stayed here for only one night, arriving at midnight and leaving again as the sun rose the next day but if i'd had more time i would definately have booked a couple of extra nights. This was the only hostel who was willing to come and pick us two girls up late at night which was good as Port Macquarie doesn't have the safest reputation. Although we were told on the phone that the hostel was only 500 yards from the bus station, when we walked back there the next day it was a LOT longer, maybe 15/20 minutes walk. The hostel has a new owner and he has done it up fabulously. When its restoration is done it will be really really nice. It seemed clean, and even though it is in one of the oldest houses in Macquaire its got a comfortable modern feel to it. I would definately reccomend this place with its helpful and friendly owner, an ex-traveller himself and who showed us around at midnight when we got there and we allmost couldnt get to the comfy beds as he was so enthusiastic about the place and what he's going to do. Good freebies too. Although when we left at dawn the next day we did find two girls on the verrandah who had arrived at 4am and had been told they could get in...they couldnt and had been sleeping in their bags outside for a few hours!!!

this is one of the best hostels in nsw.stayed here 3 times over the last 3 years and it just gets better.very friendly,basic but clean rooms.the best thing about lindels is chillin'on th verandah in the evening.especially if you want to take it easy after a mad one in sydney.say hi to paul!!!!
