Stayed here for five nights on my visit to cairns .. five minutes from the centre of town which made it lovely and quiet at night .. mark, as has been said already, is a real friendly guy .. will always help you out with dropping you off if you need to get to the wharf to pick up a boat or anywhere else for that matter .. room was basic and clean .. pool was a pleasure to jump into every morning .. internet access .. cold drinks machine .. good shared kitchen and laundry facilities and nice spaces to just relax .. would definitely stay here again

if you like to be able to escape the hustle and bustle that goes with the backpackers choice of destination, travellers oasis is the place to be. quiet, unobtrusive, unquestionably helpful staff and the idylic surroundings make this the perfect place to recuperate after one too many cocktails in town. 5 mins walk and your in the heart of cairns, but its as quiet as paradise at night. perfect. Mark, you can hold on to the cheque, i'll definatly be returning.

Stayed here with my husband before & after a 3 day dive trip. The man who runs the place, Mark, is AMAZING with remembering names! Nice place, has a pool, laundry facility, 2 kitchens, internet access *when the office is open.

Very basic - room had a bed & small coat-rack, short walk to shared facilities. Would stay here again.

I visited the Traveller's Oasis in early Sep 02 on a motorcycle tour. The owner is biker friendly. Nice rooms, good shared facilities. Would stay there any time again. Had a nice room with french doors and veranda in front. Breakfast "on the veranda" every morning was a hoot.
