This place is definitely one of the better hostels on the east coast. It is reasonably priced and quite colourful. The doubles have fridges, however the hostel could do with air conditioning rather then fans. The pool area is lovely with comfy seating, however the kitchen closed too early and the request of deposits for utensils was a bit much. All in all, a relaxing place to stay.

To say that Scottys is a decent hostel is a major understatement. After travelling the west and east coast of australia we found scottys to be one of the most memorable places of our whole trip. The friendly feel to the place is unrivaled and seems to have the potential for an almost cult status. The 'hard banana bar'ensures that all residents get to socialise and have a laugh playing drinking games to cheesy dancing, pool comps and quizzes. This place is a must for any backpacker whether heading south or north- We will always remeber the great week we had there for a long time- especially mel, the loveliest receptionist in the world- keep swinging those firechains!
