I was here in November 2002 and found this place to be really good value. I was in a room with four beds (only one bunk bed) that was air-conditioned (so necessary in Port Douglas!) and had a bathroom with shower attached. There's a great restaurant that even the locals go to, a nice pool and the beach is a five minute walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. The internet lounge is air conditioned and the kitchen is functional. Only two downsides: the location is a bit far from the centre of town and all the lounge chairs at the pool were broken. Still a great place to stay though.

This was definately the best hostel we've stayed in!! We had a double and it was sooo clean, there were fresh towels everyday, a nice pool and a really good cafe to eat at! The staff is very friendly and well oraganized. The kitchen was clean and well maintained, though a little small, didn't matter. There's a pool to relax in and a air conditioned internet room:) Highly recommend staying here, the port is a beautiful place!!!

I was very fond of this hostel. Location is great. Heaps of activities. The bistro is top rate and inexpensive if you are not in the mood to self cater for a night. Swimming pool.....pool table.....nice sized rooms...clean....friendly....great atmosphere....one of my favorite hostel places in Australia.

great hostel with a variety of rooms to suit. Very chilled out and friendly, helpful staff to book and advise on tours etc, good facilities, overall very well run and a definite recomendation. Great food as well from the Bistro!
