Booked this hostel online through their only website the night before securing with a credit card. On turning up at the hostel to be greeting by a guy who was not friendly to be told the room had gone. A female then informed that the email with my booking had come in late so the room had already gone. I asked why they didnt call me on my mobile, they claimed they tried but I have messagebank so they could have left a message! Needless to say not impressed after a long drive, they did offer to phone round but I declined. Pretty poor be wary of what purports to be realtime online booking but clearly is not

I agree with a previous review - the owner of this place needs a course in customer sevices, she was rude and the rest of the staff were not much better. The room was clean but I found a sink covered in blood in the ladies toilet one day. I would not recommend at all.

Had a fantastic time, the hostel was the cleanest I've ever stayed at, the staff were friendly and helpfull (the owner spent a couple of hours organising some tours for me).Situated 5mins drive from Surfers Paradise and they have a bus that runs regularly in and out so I was able to get to SP for free.The beaches are only a 5min walk and there is plenty of activities there.The BBQ's at night are great, they have live music most times, great atmosphere at the bar and the owner gives you a free shot on Club Crawl night.They also have a great selection of DVD's that are free to watch, all said I had a great time at this hostel and would highly recomend a stay here to anyone.

The idiot that wrote the previous comment doesn't know customer service or a great hostel when they see one.I have now spent 2 weeks here and I am from New Zealand and had the most fantastic time.Cheers to the owner best owner of any hostel that I have stayed at.Would recommend this hostel to everone who is travelling.Cheers your Kiwi freind

Came to stay here in December because the brochure looked good, unfortunately did not live up to expectations at ALL!!!Some of the staff were rude and abrubt, in fact the rudest turned out to be the owner of the hostel. (she could use some customer service skills!)The bathrooms were not very clean and the kitchen was pretty skanky.The other thing is the hostel is miles out of Surfers, its in the middle of Southport so you have to take the bus into Surfers, plus after you go out and party you have to pay about $15 for a taxi home every night.I was disappointed, and especially considering how rude the owner was, would not recommend this to anyone.
