I can't understand how anyone could give this place more than one star. The smell alone should be enough to put anyone off staying here. The staff are friendly, but they'd want to be, cos this place is really run down and dirty. Once I saw the room, I was straight out of there. You'd be better off on the street.

Not enough showers, internet was permanently out of order, receptionists were pretty useless (apart from Matt). Cheap and good location but next time I'm going to pay a bit extra and stay somewhere else.

My home for 2 months! Admittedly a bit noisy from the trains and foot traffic after the pubs close, and a few more washrooms would not go to waste, but overall a great value. Cannot beat the location, and Dave and Matt are awsome! The rooms are large, the beds have real mattreses, and the best places to meet people is the kitchen (while fighting over clean pots and pans!) and the lobby. If you're less concerned about appearances and more about fun, location, and atmoshpere, then there is no better place to be in the city center.

Staff were great, place was great, bar was great ,price was great,my friends and i stayed for 2 weeks its was just a great time. If you are a loser you probably won't fit in there.

couldn't sleep due to the traffic and railway noise, not a clean hostel at all, most of the staff were helpful but generally full of long termers who were very cliqueycheap enough but not good value in my books I moved on pretty fast

Best value for dollars in Australia (up to now!)I came for 2 days and stayed 32! Great location and very helpfull staff. Ask for a Matt when you get there.Free pick up from the airport saved me $33.

This place was fun I was suprised to read the other review, the atmostphere was great--- not a stuck up person to be seen. the bar next door was cool as well and the drinks were to cheap= Big hangover. What can i say it was good, i checked in for 3 nights and stayed just over 2 weeks.

If you want to stay in a hostel where the receptionsits are about as useful as a chocolate tea pot, the toilets and shower facilities are, for want of a better word, stinking and the decor is at the standard of the Melboune gaol then this place is a must. If not stay away.
