Good place to stay in Brussels. The location isnt the greatest (uphill from Brussel-Noord about 2 k) but it has good beds and decent food for the money. The beds need a little work, though. They squeak REALLY easy and keep you up all night, but thats the only thing. Oh and best Kebab in Europe is next door!

This hostel is really well located (2 min walk from the Metro station...Botanique something...sorry, my french doesn't exist). The rooms were basic but perfectly adequate for my needs. Breakfast was really good. The bar and conservatory area are nice and the use of free cards and games was a nice touch; the price of food was really reasonable (i ate one ok hamburger for 1.5 Euros). There was a locker room to hold your stuff which is free, but you have had your own padlock (actually, i did´t have one, and, lucky me, my stuff kept safe for many hours). The staff is really helpful and polite. I'd highly recommend this hostel :) ps. Don´t miss the "Grand Place" in Brussels.....such a beautiful place! And, hey, you HAVE to go to BRUGGE (you can stay in Brussels, and just go to Brugge for a few hours. the single train ticket costs 10 Euros, but, believeme...it really worths!!)

I only spent one night here, but I found it to be clean and well located with a underground stop right around the corner. I actually had a single room, which was strange because I usually stayed in a dorm, but it was so cheap that it was worth one night of privacy. Staff was courteous and friendly. Would recommend.

We stayed at this hostel for four nights at the beginning of November 2002.It was positioned close to a metro and a short walk to the shops and the Grand Place. As two girls on our own, we didn't feel threatened at all once we had got our bearings. The rooms were basic but perfectly adequate for our needs. The showers weren't fantastic but they did the job. Breakfast was pretty good, although you have to be up really early for it - just bread, cereal, orange juice and hot chocolate/ coffee/ tea.We slept well on all the nights and there was no noise at all even though it was filled to capacity on the Saturday night. The bar and conservatory area were really good and the use of free cards and games was a nice touch. The price of wine and beer was really reasonable and we even ate lasagne one night and for 5 Euros it was delicious. The internet service was quite slow, and as we were only there for a long weekend, we didn't use any of the laundering faciities. There was a locker room to hold your stuff which was free if you had your own padlock (or you could get one with a deposit at reception). The staff were in fact really helpful and polite, providing us with the best information, although they did turn very hostile with people who were short with them. I'd highly recommend this hostel.

Stayed here for two nights in Oct 2002. Staff were friendly and location is great...close to Nord station, and about 20 mins from Central Station and the main square. Shops, restaurants, and an internet cafge are all within two minutes walk. Beds were comfortable, and I liked how the individual rooms could be locked (not enough hostels do that). Only problems were the showers were crap (although they were clean) and this was one of the loudest hostels I stayed in. Overall a good fun place to stay.

This place is great and the staff are courteous as well as helpful. This is close to a market that is open late, even after the bar at the hostel has closed. The hostel is next to Botanique station and is also about 15to 20 min walk to the Grand 'Place and not 30 mins. The tram and metro service stops at 1am, so if you are out after that, take a taxi which should only cost about 6-8 Euros from the Grand 'Place at the most. The only draw back is that this a family hostel and attracts alot of parents with small kids, so you may be woken up in the morning by kids being loud. They usually get their own rooms , so you don't have to worry about them staying in a dorm with you; which is good.

This is a great hostel in a great city, the rooms are very nice, the showers are clean, it has a great breakfast and a really cool bar with a great atmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the place is very well located, in a nice part of the city, really close to a metro station. I enjoyed staying there very much.

of all the places we stayed in europe this was the best hostel. for nine euros we had a room with eight other people and the best hostel breakfast a person could ask for. The rooms were clean and nice. the only sucky thing was the lockout at 10am, but other than that no complaints at all! The hostel also has a beautiful courtyard and bar! The staff are great too and it is located close to the train station!!!!
