This place was pretty good and cheap. We had 3 people and so got a tripple room... the next night only 2 people but they let us keep the room. We paid 370 crowns each per night (like 12 bucks). The location is pretty good... so you can walk to the old town center in less than 20 minutes or be there quickly on the subway. I wouldn't have wanted to stay at the end of one of the metro lines. The road outside is pretty noisy if you have the window open.

The room was pretty clean. Sheets had some holes, but it was clean, and came with a small towel. Beds were not very comfortable: thin mattress on a frame (no springs or anything). But it was good enough to sleep on. It was also good to be able to come in any time and not worry about a lockout.

Only downside was the bathrooms -- they were dirty. At least it was actual dirt that was making it dirty, which is better than "dirty" from not being cleaned. It was cleaned every day. The problem is that the showers have crapply little curtains that don't keep the water in... so the floor gets wet. Then anything on everybody's shoes ends up on the floor. The same curtains also mean that you are basically visible from the bathroom (and the hall if the door opens!) if someone really wants to get a look at you. Oh well... it wasn't really bad.

I think I'd stay there again... at least I'd know what to expect. On the other hand, there seems to be a bunch of hostels in Prague... so maybe they are worth checking out too.

The hostel is quite comfortable with big rooms and the staff is friendly. Showers get a little bit dirty, so you should have a bath early. What is really great is the restaurant downstairs (cheap and really good food), even though the breakfast is not one of the best I had in Europe.

I love Prague but my experience in the hostel totally destroy my impression of the Czechs. Having read all the positive reviews before I decided to reserve a bed there I must now say I am definitely negative about this place. I stayed there for 2 nights and as the hostel is rather quiet with just a tv room I wanted to watch some tv before retiring for the night and when I asked the guy at the reception whether I can watch, his reply was NO. And I thot fine, maybe the tv is down but his following sentence surprised me. He said "No, you can't watch becos it disturbs me" hey hey it is a hostel and hostel are always fill with noise. 2nd nite was another guy but this one is quite opposite, instead of opposing the use of tv, he is the one monopolising the tv, he decides what channels to watch and he is permanently in front of the tv, even when he goes to the toilet, he will take the remote away and I thot he was one of the hostelite cos when I came back the 2nd day he was sitting in front of the tv..in fact everytime I went out and came back he is there..I am totally disappointed with the service. No doubt it is cheap but there are lots more cheap hostels around in Czech I am sure.

I must agree with a Backpacker from Dublin. I work for an independent travel organisation and I was fully sutisfied with this hostel. I give 4 stars.

I stayed in hostel advantage for a week and found it to be great value for money. Its only a 5 minute walk from the city centre and while basic is perfect for backpackers. It also has no curfew so we could come and go as we pleased.

Hostel Advantage is very cosy and cheap hostel in the center of Prague. I stayed there twice and both times for one week. I work as a tourist guide for one Travel agency in Copenhagen and this hostel was recommended to us by our client and I can only recommend it as well.
