I didn't expect the cheery kitchen, the wonderful staff or the newly decorated rooms. Several rooms even have poems livening the walls. After traipsing around Prague, Sir Tobys became a welcome respite. I have stayed in private homes, bustling hostels and dumpy hotels... and must say Sir Tobys has been my favorite. Thanks guys!

I'm from Mexico and I was there last March 2002 and I just can say: YOU ARE THE BEST. Clean, secure, friendly and a very kind staff. Maybe you have to walk a little to take the subway but even that, has a great location. And isn't noisy!!! If you go to Prague give this hostel a try!!

A bit of a treak from the city centre but still not completely out of it Sir Toby is a clean hostel (esp by Czech standards). Bathrooms are good, there is no curfew, and staff help out where there can... the negative is there is no communual area, like a bar (kitchen is shitty to spend time in) to meet people so if you are a solo traveller it is prob best to stay in a more social hostel (like the clown) but I would def choose this one if in a group

When I went to Sir Toby's, there were no free rooms so they offered to put my four friends and I in one of their private apartments (the one pictured on their web-page). It worked out fairly well. The apartment was situated right by the I.P. Pavlova subway stop so it is very close to Wenceslas Square. We rented half of the apartment for 300 Kc per person. It comes with a huge dining room and kitchen as well as a private bathroom. Sheets, pillows, and towels were all provided free of charge. The old lady who takes care of the place is super nice and her halting English is very admirable. Well worth the money and the location is excellent.

Sir Toby's is a superb hostel, with a cool chilled-out atmosphere, a funky little kitchen, comfortable beds and the nicest hostel staff ever. it's a bit of a hike into central Prague, but the transport is cheap and easy, and the area around the hostel is worth exploring for cheap food and drink (and not too many tourists!).
