I liked this place. They have a bar which is full of friendly and interesting people from 3pm till late at night. Not the same community atmostphere you get at smaller hostels, but overall very cool. Also check out the Indian restraunt arount the corner and the movie rental place next door. Oh and watch out for crazy Prague hookers!

This hostel has an excellent location and can be walked from the train station in less than 10 minutes. It is in the middle of the historic area of Prague and you can easily walk to almost all tourist areas.

I found the hostel to be chaotic and disorganized. I was given the key to my double room and when I opened the door I was very surprised to find people in there already, and they were equally surprised to have someone open their door. I had a guy at the front desk try to convince me that it was Wednesday on Tuesday, he didnt even bother to check a calendar so I had to go back later to book my Wednesday bus with someone who knew what day of the week it was.

This hostel seems to be located in many buildings scattered through out the neighborhood. We were located in a building behind the main hostel building. It seems to be undergoing some renovation and the door doesnt look promising, but dont let that fool you. It is a LONG hard walk up MANY flights of stairs. There is an elevator if you wanted to risk it and have all day. The reward is a top floor balcony/terrace with a nice view. The rooms are very large and spacious and bright and clean. There seem to be adequate showers and toilets. There is also a kitchen/breakfast room with a kettle, hotplate and fridge. Breakfast is good, includes coffee and juice, as well as the usual cornflakes and buns, cheese and meat.

If you can get through the ordeal of dealing with the staff this hostel is a good place to stay. I would recommend booking quite far in advance as it seems a hard place to get into with a very long waiting list.

If you're wanting to explore Prague then this hostel is ideal!!! I stayed at the main hostel on 'Diouha 33'... In terms of location, you couldn't ask for anything better. Seriously, it's walking distance for ALL the main tourist sights!

The hostel itself is just another average hostel, nothing special! The rooms, toilets and showers were all CLEAN with an endless supply of hot water for showering! There's internet access and also, i think, a laundry area? The rates are relatively cheap too... so if you're with friends it's worth getting a private room!

In all, a good hostel!! Would I stay here again?? ...If I was to come back to Prague in a couple of years and was on a budget, then DEFINATELY!!!

This hostel was nothing great, but nothing terrible either. I stayed in the main Dlouha street location- which sounds like it is key as far as having a good experience here. While initially i was really sketched out by being taken to a back entrance that resembled a warehouse, the actual hostel was fine. The rooms were clean and big, even with a nice enough view. The bathrooms were a bit iffy, but no worse than a college dorm. Also, the location really was amazing for going out at night, and just seeing the city in general.

This hostel provides all that the backpacker looks for. It is cheap, moderately clean, has a good sized breakfast included, a fantastic location, and a cheap bar.

I spent two nights here Feb 2002. I was put into one of the overflow hostels, half a block from the main building. Through a big iron door, down an unlighted cobblestone courtyard with signs posted reminding us to make sure we close the iron door to discourage the homeless. The second locked door led into a stairwell, also unlighted unless you could locate the timer button for the lights (which had no nightlight or glow or anything). If you were lucky enough to find the lightswitch you had two minutes to make it to the next big security door three flights up, then you could find another timed lightswitch, to continue up to the floor on which I stayed. Finally my room had its own lock. So in all 4 doors to pass through and a scary dark courtyard to contend with before I even got to my room. And on the door to my room was a posting announcing that I should make sure my things were secured, theft was rampant. Great!... Then inside the room, one of the flourescent bulbs was burnt out and the other hummed, well more like yelled. Breakfast was to be served between 8 and 11 but both mornings it was not laid out before 8:30.Overall, it was a miserable, paranoid, annoying experience.

This hostel was mearly alright, the one thing to watch for is if they try to send you to their overflow hostels, these other hostels are complete dives. If your gonna stay at any of the travellers hostels make sure its the one on "Diouha 33".
