I stayed in Krumlov House last year, it was a gorgeous place, like a little log cabin all cosy after the chilly snowy outdoors. I wasn't sure if the place would live up to it's great review in Let's Go Europe but it did. The woman who owns the place is a bundle of energy and very warm and friendly person. I would love to go back in the summer.

After reading so many great things about Krumlov House, I booked two beds a week in advance. My friend and I were told to call the day before to reconfirm our reservation. The day before arriving, I called to confirm, and then the next morning I called to inform them of our arrival time. The man on the phone told me that they had accepted 6 reservations, but since several guests had extended their stay, they only had 2 beds left. He was rude and unapologetic, telling us to "hurry up and get there" if we wanted beds, and informing us that reservations did not guarantee us space but instead put us on a waiting list. Luckily, we were able to secure a last-minute reservation at the beautiful and friendly Hostel 99. It's a good thing we called that morning, because when we arrived in Cesky Krumlov at 3:00, almost every hostel we passed had a "No Vacancy" sign posted. I thought other travellers might like to know that the people at Krumlov House were rude and didn't follow through...If you want to be guaranteed a place to sleep, I'd recommend staying in one of the many other great places in town.

Krumlov House was one of the best hostels we stayed during our whole trip. When we arrived they gave us a map of the town and told us the best restaurants etc to go to. The kitchen was always clean and someone was always ready to sit down for a chat. It was a nice break after a very long and often exhausting trip through Europe. More like staying at a friend's house than a hostel - excellent!
