I had heard really bad things about this place but I thought it was fine. There was a bit of a stink in the rooms (I stayed there twice in 2 different rooms and same smell each time) and only 2 toilets and showers I think for whole hostel which was a bit annoying. Breakfast was overpriced, cafes etc close by where you can get something better for same price or cheaper. Free internet which is handy!

it's no longer a giant warehouse. it's split into smaller dorms, which makes it more comfortable. the common area is nice. you have to pay for linens and breakfast, which sucked. DON'T buy their breakfast it's the biggest ripoff ever, as is the internet. use the internet cafe and 7-11 (both are just around the corner). there's your cheap breakfast and internet, not even a two minute walk from the hostel, so it works out. my room didn't have a controlled heater and i was freezing on the first night, but when i told reception about it they gave me an extra blanket for free, and told me that since they recently redid the place some dorms have controlled heaters and others do not. so, it sounds to me that they're still just working out a few kinks. you have to give them a break there. it's probably going to improve over the next few months. not quite as central as i'd like it to be, but copenhagen is very walkable, and i'd recommend forgoing public transporation anyway, since it's quite the charming city. sleep-in heaven seems to be the only decent place that's open year-round, so if you're backpacking anytime other than the summer, this place is a good deal.

staff were friendly, location good but just 4 showers and three toilets (men and women all together) for the whole hostel (at least 90 beds) is really not enough!!!! that made it very, very unconfortable.

First impression: hmmm, lovely common area, nice pool table, beer on tap, friendly staff. Second impression: dear lord, that's where we're sleeping?! It was like they had lured you in with the nice exterior only to be confronted by the hideous dorm. Seriously, it was just like a converted gym hall. Smelled like it too. It's the first (and hopefully last) time I've been confined in a draughty room with 76 others, a seemingly large percentage of whom snored and farted like they were at deaths door. The showers were manky and stank of urine and the beds were about as comfortable as a sheet of corrugated iron. Ok, we stayed there in January and I hear they are renovating the "Dorm", so maybe it's improved...but to be honest, it couldn't get much worse!Oh, and if you do choose to go there don't buy breakfast - you'll pay a ridiculous amount for a stale role and a lump of butter.

Sleep-In Heaven has apparently just renovated the entire dorm-area, which means that instead of the huge dorm they had before,( I understand this was not a pleasant experience!) you can now choose a smaller room! The options are 6 bedded rooms for the price of 140 kr pr night, or a room with 9-14 beds in it for the price of 130 kr pr night!! Although the rooms are not so big, and the bunks are in 3 levels, there is a really cosy feeling to them and you get a good nights sleep! On top of that there are free lockers for use, some in the rooms and more in the really cool chill-out zone in connection with the reception area! Showers and toilets are nice and clean, no harm in having more of both though, but if you shower during the afternoon or evening, even night, instead of in the morning when it would be most obvious to do it, then you wont have to stand in line at all!:) Extremely friendly and open staff at reception, cheap beer and basically a really relaxed atmopshere! And no curfew!!!!!!!!!!;)It thought breakfast was fine, 40 kr for all you can eat and drink! It is a simple and typical scandinavian breakfast (I am from Sweden, so probably the reason I liked it so much!:)with fresh baked bread, jam, cheeses etc and tea, coffee, and juice! So I guess if you are looking for the grand american breakfast, you dont wanna do it!:)Anyways I really enjoyed my stay and will go again next time I pass through for sure!! Check it out yourself!:)

Unfortunately the Sleep in Heaven didn't quite live up to it's name. It was the worst place I stayed on my backpacking trip and I won't be back in a hurry. Although it may look nice as you walk in, there is a dark dungeon of hell awaiting you through the door marked dorm! The dorm consisted of 80 (three level) bunk beds which were seperated into tiny sections. I just had to make myself laugh when I saw it! In addition to the cramped, uncomfy and unclean living conditions, there were only around five showers so you had to wait your turn. Another thing- the pillows were minuscule and there was no place to hang towels so don't plan on doing a washing there. Because the dorm had such impersonal sleeping conditions and there were signs posted that it was for sleeping only, the Sleep Inn Heaven lacked a friendly, backpacking atmosphere. You coudn't socialize in the dorm so people kept to themselves much of the time and the music they played in reception didn't help in energizing people to get drunk and talk to one another either! Aside from this the reception area was decorated nicely with a pool table and a chill out zone. There was an outdoor garden too and snacks available at reception although don't ask for hot water- they'll charge you 2 kr. I would recommend that people stay no longer than 2 nights at the Sleep Inn Heaven (for the good of your health!) I would also recommend that you have a few vodkas before attempting to get up onto the third level bunk. You can worry about how to get down in the morning!

I stayed here on the first night of my city break in Copenhagen. Granted, the 'dorm room' is basically a great big partitioned warehouse with a shower and a toilet at the back, but it's OK for somewhere to sleep and cheap. There's also loads and loads of free lockers (you put 20kr in but you get it back when you open it) so if you're worried about luggage security then it's alright in that regard. There is a place to 'chill out and read'. It's called the common room, and it has a bar, pool table and internet access. The bed area is for sleeping in, so it's quite dark. It's also quiet in there (at least it was the night I stayed here). The bar is also quite cheap for Copenhagen and the staff on the desk are reasonably personable. The location of the hostel is quite a way away from the centre of the city. It is walkable (possibly not if you've got all your luggage on) but you'll probably want to use public transport. Nørrebro is a hip area with lots of clubs and bars, but not that much in the way of sightseeing opportunities--get a klippenkort card. The hostel isn't so hard to find if you bring a map with you.The showers are clean, and big enough to get dried (and changed, at a stretch) in (just as well, as there's not much privacy in a 100-bed dorm!). The beds aren't so clean, but that's what your sleep sheet is for. It's a bit of a job to clean 100 beds I suppose!

This was absolutely the worst hostel I´ve ever stayed in, and I´ve been travelling around Europe for 6 months! Firstly, the beds felt like you were sleeping in cupboards! No joke! They were "partitioned" off by wooden walls, but with no doors. This provided no privacy and certainly no barrier to noise! People would walk past and stare into your cupboard. They were extremely cramped and uncomfortable - the beds sagged a lot! Secondly, the staff said that I had to use a blanket as my top sheet, even though they weren´t clean and I had paid for linen! Thirdly, the bathroom floor was disgusting - it was all sticky as you walked. The toilets overflowed everywhere! Fourthly, there was no control of the noise that people made at night. Young boys were allowed to continue screaming all night long, while others tried to sleep. Please, save yourself. Don´t go here!
