This is the worst hostel that I have stayed in by a long, long way. The 76 beds in the massive dorm are stacked 3 high on top of each other and squeezed into the tiniest of spaces... my friend and I were sleeping underneath a disused chimney (I kid you not!). The bedding wasn´t clean, and despite paying 30Kr for linen, we were only given one sheet and were told we had to choose whether to use it as an upper or lower sheet. Sleep was impossible with people talking loudly all night and lockers slamming. The toilets and showers were disgustingly dirty.... I don't even want to think about what was on the floor. Stay away!

Very noisy, school camp type atmosphere, lights on all night. They are very serious about no service, no staff and no facilities. Not the worst place in the world, but far from reaching average standard

-If you thought it was noisy, earplugs are on sale. -U shouldn't leave personal belongings lying about, duh!-The showers are okay, though maybe not enough of them. -The postcards advertise the fact that they aren't all about stupid comforts, just the bare essentials. I thought all staff were friendly & helpful, that it was very well heated, and that it's location was grand - even if u don't like walking no-one ever asked us to pay for a bus ticket ;-pPlus, it's got a fukkin pool table, and great beer on tap!

I can say one positive thing about this place: I bonded with how bad it was with other people I met in other cities. In Oslo, I was complaining about Sleep-in Heaven and other people actually started coming up and joining in the conversation who had also stayed there and found it to be an absolutely miserable experience. Think military barracks. No sleep. I had candy stolen off my bed--which was ten feet in the air, the top of a three-tiered bunk bed. Yeah, you know the overnight trains...same experience. Crammed in. Lockers slamming all night, people yelling screaming, even singing at the top of their lungs at all hours. And in the huge warehouse that it is, all sound echoes. The showers will make you decide that you would rather stink. They actually have postcards that you can buy of the disgusting bathrooms. This place gets the prize for worst hostel I have ever stayed in....hands down.

We slept in the 86 bed dorm... asshole english lads kept everyone awake all night (apparently they went out of their way to do this), anyway... that's not the hostels fault. Next morning we told reception about the guys and they said if there were any more probs, they'd sort it out for us....The staf were pretty nice and friendly. Chill out room was cool - with a pool table. 10dkr for tea/coffee with free re-fils. As for the noise, you can buy earplugs for 5dkr at reception. One thing I will say is that one toilet in the dorm is just not enough for 80something people... nor are the 3 very cold showers.Lockers are big enough to fit your whole bag in... and you just pay a deposit to use them - so the security is quite good. The location is pretty good for Copenhagen (i think it was one of 2 hostels that you could walk to from the station) - and compared to the City Public Hostel, this place was like a friken palace.

I stayed here with a friend for 4 nights in February. We slept in the main room, which sleeps 85 people. We were crammed into a six-bed cubicle with 3 other people, one of whom had a hacking cough. Both of us got a horrible flu from sleeping within 4 feet of this poor sick kid, which made us miserable for the last week of our trip. On the last night of our stay (we had to catch a bus at 5:30 the next morning), a group of 40-50 high school students arrived around 12:30am. They proceeded to yell, run around the room, slam the locker doors, and laugh and talk loudly for over an hour. Several people complained to the desk clerk, who refused to do anything about the situation. The temperature in the bathroom was probably about 50 degrees farenheit, making for a pretty chilly showering experience. (The 4 showers and 3 toilets were fine for February, when the hostel wasn't full, but it would certainly not be enough to accomodate a full summer crowd). By the way, do not book this hostel online if you can help it, as they will charge you more that way.

I stayed here in February for 5 nights and enjoyed it very much. As someone else said the lobby is deceptively cool and the bunks reminded me of what prison might be like, but it was a quiet time of year and we had plenty of room, no long waits for showers, warm in dorms (i slept in my trunks with only the thin blanket they provided) and no curfew.A bit noisy but I didn't mind as I was the noisy one - I got a few complaints when I passed out pissed and snored all night!Beer is nice in the hostel 5.8% carlsberg 'wheat' beer - highly recommended rocket fuel. If you ain't a lazy cnut you can walk anywhere easily from here - we walked to Christiana (15mins), Carlsberg Brewery (20mins) and various other locations. I enjoyed it even if others didn't enjoy me! Ha! sorry to the english girls and everyone else, its not my fault!KEGZ

There are only two dorm rooms; one with sixteen beds, the other with too many to count. They are partitioned off, four or six to a partition but the noise still carries. I was in the room with 16 and the smell was fairly intense. I don't know if this was made worse by the fact that there seemed to be no heating in the bathrooms making showering a rather daunting experience. The showers were nice and hot, but there were only four showers and three toilets to an awful lot of people. On the other hand, the staff were really friendly and the hostel (unlike many others) was actually within walking distance to town, which is probably it's main advantage.

The place was quite well organized, clean and comfortable. At first the dormitory seemed very big, but fortunately it was quiet and the beds were really nice. Good and free lockers with deposit, also. Cost about 11USD during summer 2001.

It's decently central to København centrum, only a short bus ride run the main train station. It is a little hard to find, but getting there isn't impossible. The bar is decently priced, and it's open year round without a curfew. If you don't have sheets or a sleeping bag you rent both, so it costs about 25 canadian dollars a night. All in all it was allright, especially for winter travelers.
