This hostel is right opposite St. Pauls Cathedral in the middle of the business part of the city. Used to be the old choir school for the cathedral - apparently there's still some of the old choir school bits in there somewhere. Very well located for buses and the tube (Blackfriars is nearest but St. Pauls is on the other side of the cathedral). Loads of quaint London pubs nearby but not many supermarkets / malls as this is not the part of town where people live. If you want a more lively evening then you need to take the bus (or tube) into the West End. The area around the hostel which is in a small lane is relatively quiet after the offices have all shut down for the evening. I say relatively quiet as the bell from the cathedral provides a pleasant noise in the background. Bedrooms are comfortable and not overly big with loads of people sharing. Showers / toilets are great and the place is always very clean. Staff go out of their way to be helpful. Good place to stay if you want to see city churches, Tower of London, etc. It's the place I would want to stay when in London. Happy travelling everyone.
