The hostel is situated very far away from the center and there are not too many busses passing the hostel....It is new and clean etc. but really lacks spirit......But two stars for being cheap and the breakfast is not too bad....

It's clean and apparently new. Which is about the only nice thing one could say about it. The staff is the rudest bunch of people you could imagine. Do not even dare to ask them anything if you're not fluent in French (which is still not a guarantee that you'll be given an answer). They are open 7am-12 and than 5pm-12. Which means that if you've been traveling whole night/morning, and after you manage to find them (official figure is 2km from the city centre, and it is at least questionable. It never took me 40 minutes to walk 2km before), than you'll have to wait for another couple of hours before you can take a shower. However, 7-12am is only a theory, as they actually expect people to leave by 9.30am, followed by some rather unbeliveable story about cleaning and them not being able to keep track about which rooms are being cleaned if there are still people in.

If you want to see any of the nightlife in Aix (which is worth seeing), than you'll end up spending as much money for cabs as you did for the hostel itself (last bus is at 10pm, locals do not recomend walking by night). But even if you do so you'll end up annoyed, as you'll still have to be there by midnight (also beware, time is relative, midnight is not really always 12.00, it depends on receptionist's mood).

To conclude, avoid it if you possibly can.
