I had a fantastic time in Nice and this hostel only enhanced that time! The Belle is a lovely, clean hostel with a great atmosphere! The staff is friendly and the cleaning lady sings! The rooms are clean, and so are the bathrooms and shower. The only drawback to The Belle is that showers cost 2 euros for 5 min. You simply buy a token at the front desk and insert the token in the shower. It wasn't unpleasant just inconvenient. But it was no big deal when added to all the other great aspects of The Belle! I highly recommend it!!

I can't say enough good things about this place. Ok, so the really important things in the mind of the backpacker are all there: clean, cheap (13E dorm beds), friendly, breakfast included, no curfew/lockout, and close to the train station. Yes, you have to pay for a shower, but heck, I'd rather pay 2E for every shower I took instead of having an extra 2-5 euros added on to the price. The staff must have changed, because that guy's review of them couldn't be more off. They were very, very friendly and helpful. I ended up making friends with a couple of them.More importantly, in my opinion, is the atmosphere there. There is a sense of community there which leads people to make a ton of friends from all over the world. I met some of the greatest people while staying there. There are tables and chairs in the garden outside where everyone seems to gather in the evenings and share wine and talk. I don't think I would love Nice as much as I do without staying at the Hotel Belle Muniere.

This hostel for the price that we paid 13 euros was very good. The reception people were very nice, and willing to move other people around in the rooms so that you could stay another night if you wanted to. As well, the cleaning ladies were so sweet and cute. But best of all is the huge free breakfast that they provide you and the sink that you have inside every room. As well, it's quite happening there in the sense that everyone chills outside together, and then all go out to Wayne's Bar. Stay there! The only bad thing that I can say about it, although it's quite doable is to have to pay 2 euros to take a 6 minute shower...

The rooms were ok if a little cramped. The communal shower by the dining room was third-world. Overall I'm not fussy about that sort of thing but the level of service was pretty shithouse. Not sure who was worse, the mongo Brit stoner, the outrageously rude German (Scandinavian?) chick or the vacant French bird. Anyway, seeing as the staff in these joints is fairly itinerant I wouldn't let that put you off. The location is ok. Try a few other places first and at a pinch give it a go if you're getting desperate.

Don't go to the Belle Meuniere if you are looking for a fancy hostel with amazing rooms and all the facilities. The rooms are basic, the facilities minimal. HOWEVER..if you are looking for the BEST hostel in Nice for meeting awesome people, and an ever present party atmosphere, look no further! The staff are super friendly, and everyone is relaxed. It is impossible to not meet people, and you can sit outside all day and chat. In the evenings, everyone gets together to share food and alcohol, and when the hostel closes at 10pm, everyone heads off to Nice's clubs to party! You will probably end up staying longer than you planned.. I know I did. Ps. If you possibly can, try to get room 9 or 15
