This hostel is very clean and very spacious; service is friendly if not a bit confused.

They sell beer and wine cheaper then even the local shops!

Free internet is a nice touch. They offer free pick/ups from the station and can often be counted on to get a drop off too. I think the site advertises hourly shuttle bus but disregard. If someone is driving downtown youll get a lift but there not scheduled or that frequent.

My only gripe which is out of the control of the hostel is location. for location it gets a 2 star it s long walk uphill.

If you plan on nightlife then expect to pay around 20 euros cab fare. You can negotiate with the cabbies I think initially he wanted 34 to get downtown.

I stayed for 4 or 5 nights.

Enjoy!

Very weary we arrived at Nice bus station and called the owner of this hostel early, who is so lovely and told us how to get here and then picked us up halfway!!! The place is 20 Euros for a 4 bed dorm, but this place is like a holiday resort, big open rooms and a million dollar view of Nice! My hesitation about it being a bit far from the town centre faded immediately as soon as I got here because it is so beautiful. They are renovating to make it bigger and it is just so well run.

Free breakkie of cereals and lovely bread, free internet and it is quite fast, loads of information and they sometimes give you lifts to the station, saves you the bus ride. Big beautiful kitchen to cook as much as you need.

Unfortunately on my 2nd day of arriving in Nice I sprained my knee, went to hospital and on crutches, but they came to pick me up from the train station and let me use their phone to claim my medical insurance. This kind of treatment is priceless when you're vulnerable and away from home injured.

This hostel is by far the greatest place to stay in Europe! You gotta stay here!

This was the best hostel I stayed at during my summer in europe. I was there in August and stayed in a small dorm with a bathroom and shower for 6 nights. The shower was great and there was always hot water. The place is like a mini-resort, the common room has huge comfy couches and free internet (and not just one computer, five!) The breakfast (free) is actually good, the best fresh bread I've had at a hostel and loads of different kinds of cereal.

But the best part of the hostel is how social and friendly it is. If you are travelling alone like I was, the place is very condusive to meeting people. Everyone drinks, mingles and bonds around the hostel outside at night. Good times for sure.

It is run by the kindest, most wonderful english family. Albert, Arno and the Dad are so lovely and they will do anything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They work really hard at running this place, I don't think I ever saw them sit down for more than 2 minutes. It means something to them.

There is no stress or bulls%!@ rules (lockout, curfew, etc.) here which is so nice and makes everything so much more pleasent. Everything is dealt with in a calm, fair and efficient manner. I loved Nice and this place so much that I'd like to go back. It was hard to leave.

Thanks for the best time you guys!

P.S. Moe baby!! (aka berlin), I totally remember you, i'm the girl who hung out with neal, ollie, etc. let's email.

First of all the prices are way much too high since you may get a bed in a huge dorm room named 'Chapel' from 14 Euros through 18 Euros for a 6 men dorm. A double room is 20 Euros each and finaly a single room (where I stayed at) is 25 Euros each night. This all includes a free breakfast, free kitchen use and a beautiful view down on Nice. Moreover it is a great place for meeting people since everybody is used to hang around drinking and chatting during the evenings.

Do you want to go to the beach, explore Nice or buy food and/or drinks? Just stop by at the reception desk and Albert and Arno, the guys from the reception, will explain to you how to get to the best beaches around Nice and one of the staff members will even take you down in the hostel's VW bus (And if you're stuck at the train station just call them up and they will come down and pick you up). They'll also explain you how to get to the nearest supermarkets, stores and banks .. apart from that they sell food and drinks at the reception.

Definitly the best, friendliest and cheapest place to stay at in Nice and even around the Riviera. And as their homepage says .. I came there for 5 nights and stayed for 1 month and 2 weeks :-)

Simply put, hostels that treat it's patrons this well don't deserved to be lumped into a category of other wise average hostels. Family owned and opertated the former church has a very home like feeling through out your stay. Other than just being a very attractive place the service provided is always polite, punctual and very fair to all. When you awake a free breakfast awaits which surpasses most 2 and 3 star hotel's continental offerings. All and all I very much enjoyed my stay and would certainly recommend villa saint exupery to all coming to the French Riviera.
